This was another tea that I really wanted to try. It’s a lighter tea and I must say the the more delicate tea’s are great for making kombucha. The stronger tea’s seem to have more of a ginger and spice flavor. This turned out to have a great color in fermentation.

26g Oolong Tea Tea
500 ml Hot Water Water
391g White Sugar Carbohydrate
3 liter Cold Water Water
1 SCOBY Yeast
2 Cups Kombucha #008 Starter


  1. Added Earl Grey to Pyrex measuring jug and filled with hot water and steep for 5 minutes
  2. Added the cold water to jar and added sugar, stirring it vigorously to dissolve the sugar
  3. Strained the tea into the syrup mix
  4. Added the SCOBY along with 2 cups of kombucha from previous batch

Fermentation and Bottling

  1. 23/02/16: Stared fermentation
  2. 07/03/13: 3.6pH
