Checklists I find useful to make sure everything is either in the car or what I should check to get something up and running without worrying if I missed a step. I find checklists really useful as it gets rid of the congnitive issues of wondering what needs to be done. I also find I don't forget things that way. If I rememeber correctly this came from how pilots have a checklist of each and every check they do before take-off, so if it works for them I reckon it should help a plonker like me.
